sometimes.... 1+1=3

Well, I have not posted in about two weeks.... part of that is due to the business of getting ready for my 30th bday.... but mostly, its because other than ONE major event.... I couldn't find anything else to talk about

Now, I can talk about it!!!

Ronnie and I finally passed a test last Sunday - April 26th...

Yep... sorry for the blurriness... the camera didn't want to take a good picture of my passed test.

We told all family members over the weekend... luckily we already had a trip planned to Alabama so that it wasn't wierd that we were coming down there. It really helped with the surprise factor.

We are so excited about the upcoming life change for us! However, I have to admit.... when it comes to planning for this - I don't know where to even start!!!

So, what do you think? What do you do first? Obviously, I don't know if it is a boy or girl yet - - so choosing colors and stuff doesn't make sense. I do know that we want the big things to be neutral so that we can change what is necessary.... Where do we start?

Once again, congratulations!!! So happy for you guys.

Hmm, I honestly didn't do much at all until we found out the gender both times. I'm not sure how my friends who didn't find out the gender handled it...

If you are finding out the gender, you'll probably just want to wait until you know to start decorating. You could go ahead and get started on registering, I suppose, and add the gender-specific stuff later...

Have fun!

One thing that helped up so much financially was that I started buying staples from the beginning to get used to incororating them in our budget. Such as diapers and wipes. (plus you'll get tons at showers) And once the baby was here and we had to buy diapers, we were already used to it plus we had quite the stockpile. While some babies can use any brand, a lot of my friends babies had to use certain brands b/c of different reasons. Due to this, I bought both pampers and huggies since I did not know how my baby would be. Luckily, she was able to use them all.
Another thing that greatly helped us was taking advantage of the Food Lion baby steps coupons. During my pregnancy, I stocked up on the free gerber baby food and FL brand wipes w/ those coupons. Since baby food has such a long expiration, it worked out well. I didn't have to actually "buy" any until she was almost 10 months due to this. Plus I gave a lot away!
Hope this helps
Kathy
